Race #34 & #35

Friday
we went to Jackson County Speedway in Jackson, OH. We set fast time and started
on the pole of the heat race. We took the early lead, but on lap one, I looped
it while leading. I went to the tail and worked my way back to 3rd and was
inching back in on the leaders. With about 2 to go a caution came out and Brian
Whiteman went to the pits while running 2nd. So that put us in 2nd with a 2 lap
shootout with Rob Stambaugh. We took the one to go signal and as we were
entering turn 1, the lights went out and I mean OUT! It was pitch black dark
and we were all lucky not to have some tore up racecars. Lights came back on
and we finished 2nd. We started 3rd in the feature and dropped to 4th and
probably had a 4th place finish at best. But Rob Stambaugh spun and needless to
say we got collected and got tore up and wound up with a DNF. On a good note, I
got to drive a Hobby Stock for Jamey Adams and we set 2nd fast time and won our
heat race. We started on the outside pole beside John Powell. John took the
early lead, but we kept the pressure on and made the pass and went on to get a
win in the #42J Adams Chassis. It was a lot of fun to drive.
Saturday
we went to KC and we set 2nd fast time. They invert the top 4 in each heat, so
we started 4th. There was an incident on the 1st lap that caused Mike Long to
crash. It appeared I was the cause of it and Mike was not happy. I totally
understand and have passed on my apologies, but that doesn’t fix his car, nor
give him his spot back in the heat. We went on to win the heat and Chad drew us
a 1 to start the pole of the feature. We went on to take the win, which made
win #12 for the year. Again, I got to drive for Jamey Adams and we started
outside pole of the heat race and won the heat. We started on the pole of the
feature, right beside car owner Jamey Adams. Jamey took the early lead and I
tried working him on the bottom. But finally had to put it on the high side to
pass Jamey and get win #2 on the weekend in the Hobby Stock. I want to thank
Jamey and his crew for allowing me to drive, I had a blast!
This
weekend will be at Skyline on Friday for a Road Warrior Tour race and on
Saturday, we’ll go to Ohio Valley for their Topless race paying $1,200 to win.
Keep watch on Facebook and Tim will keep everyone posted on how we progress
through out the night. We hope to see you there!
