KJ Motorsports Update #20 Race #37 & #38 By:
Kenny Johnson Date: 8-5-08 Friday we left for Brushcreek for a $1,000 to win
show. They had a little over 60 cars which was a good car count for Friday
nights show. We qualified 8th quickest overall and 2nd quick in our group. We
started outside pole of the 3rd heat. We did not get the jump on the pole
sitter, so we followed on the high side the entire heat race and finished 2nd.
This started us 9th in the feature. The car wasn’t too bad, for we came up to
5th at one point, then the car started fading back. I couldn’t figure out why
it started to be ill handling? Under caution I noticed a puff of smoke out the
right side so I pulled off. The smoke was an oil leak and we also discovered
why the car was ill handling, our 6th coil had come unhooked. That made me fell
a little better.
Saturday was my 40th birthday and I was hoping for
a Harley as a present. Instead all I got was a hard time from everyone who saw
the banner that Kim had K-Graphics make! Our qualifying lap was not that good,
for we ended up 4th quick in our group. We finished 3rd to put us in the show.
We started 11th in the feature but we never really got the car dialed in for
the track conditions that they had. We wound up finishing a disappointing 16th
place. Our weekend was no where near what I expected it to be. After last years
run, there were several people that predicted us to be up front and I didn’t
come thru. Hopefully next year!
This weekend we have a Road Warrior Tour race at
Skyline on Friday, and then we will be back to Ohio Valley on Saturday. We hope
to see you there!
Remember! To make this work, support those that
support us!
Thanks again for your support,
KJ
